“A breath of fresh air”

Workshops, webinars and training courses on all things inclusive language, for members of professional organisations, companies, and individuals.

So, what is inclusive language anyway?

To put it simply, the main aim of inclusive language is to make sure your message doesn’t offend, exclude or alienate anyone. Inclusive language should be free from prejudiced vocabulary, as regards gender, skin colour, sexuality or abilities.

Language is an extremely powerful tool. Far more so than we often realise. And word choice matters.

What's more, language never stands still. Certain expressions that were once neutral no longer have a place in today's world. That’s only natural, and it’s important to move with language, rather than resisting it or lagging behind it.

That said, each language has its own set of rules for inclusive communication. Solutions used in English may not necessarily work in Polish, Spanish or French.

So, getting guidance and educating yourself about inclusive communication in your language, or languages, is the first step.

Here’s how I can help:

My sessions can be multilingual, or specifically focused on English or Polish, and they’ll always be fully adapted and tailored.

Not sure if I’m the perfect fit as a speaker or educator for your event or organisation?

Feel free to get in touch and ask me any questions you have. I’ll happily explain in full, no strings attached.

“The ScotNet workshop about inclusive language in translation, facilitated by Alicja, was incredibly interesting and informative. The theoretical introduction was followed by a set of practical exercises that allowed the participants to try out some of the inclusive translation strategies in their own language pairs, which I found particularly valuable. Great event overall.”
